Gay tattoos in scene - so goes's?

Set the scene for gay tattoos - here's how!

Nowadays, many people get tattoos, even gay tattoos are very popular - and not only for aesthetic reasons. Numerous people are also concerned, among other things, to convey a certain message with their tattoo. Also in the gay scene, the "colorful little pictures" enjoy a special popularity. Sometimes they are particularly conspicuous, sometimes rather simple in scene set... and now and then it needs a second look to make them out as LGBTQIA+ tattoo.

Excitingly, by the way, not only gays wear these tattoos. Even people who feel they belong to the scene do not miss the opportunity to support the community in this way.

Meanwhile, the possibilities to decorate one's skin "queer-like" are as colorful as the rainbow itself. In the following sections you'll find some great inspirations - from minimalist to big.

Gay tattoos in scene - so goes's?

Idea #1: Small gay tattoos in the colors of the rainbow

There is certainly hardly any other symbol that is so closely associated with the LGBTQIA+ community as the rainbow. However, if you don't fancy the colorful semicircle, you can also use the colors wonderfully in connection with minimalist gay tattoos.

For example, how about the lettering "Love" in red, green, blue and purple? Or with a heart in the characteristic colors? There are virtually no limits to the imagination here and by now almost every tattoo artist should have the right suggestions in the drawer.

Idea No. 2: A partner tattoo

Who has already found his great love, should also feel inspired by the numerous possibilities around partner tattoos. These are not always just two identical tattoos. Sometimes a perfect picture is only created when both partners hold their hands together, for example.

Idea #3: Gay tattoos as a political statement

Among other things, gay tattoos are a great way to support your own community. And what better way to do that than with a "Pride"lettering? Whether this is then staged in the aforementioned rainbow colors or merely in black is, of course, up to you. Those who fancy the particularly eye-catching variant can of course also place the five letters on one finger each.

Idea No. 4: Abstract motifs

Many tattoo fans love the motifs, where the viewer may have to look two or three times to see their deeper meaning and the message behind it.

Abstract motifs are also very much in vogue in the LGBTQIA+ community in 2023. The principle: A tattoo that would also become a real eye-catcher in black, for example, is dipped in rainbow colors.

No matter if big dragon, heart, star, or or...: Here it is clearly about the "message behind the message".

Controversial: The Biohazard Symbol

Those who deal with gay tattoos, which play an important role within the gay scene, sooner or later come across the Biohazard symbol. This has been used for some time by some people who are HIV positive. The message: "I am a fighter!". This is for many a kind of figurative Coming Out, which is perceived differently by the environment.

Some feel the statement is somewhat "out of place" and simply "inappropriate". Others are almost grateful, because this way everyone knows where they stand - especially in the context of one night stands.

Critical voices compare the tattoo to a kind of stigmatization, such as the Rosa Winkel during the Second World War.

One thing is certain: This symbol is a motif that polarizes. But as is so often the case, as long as the wearers of the skin art feel good, everything is actually okay, isn't it?
