The Abbey Ruins Bad Hersfeld near Kassel
The Bad Hersfeld Abbey Ruins are located near Kassel and are very central, so you can reach them by car or on foot. It is one of the most beautiful and largest basilicas in the Alps and is today one of the most recognized Romanesque church ruins in the whole world. In the past, however, there were many other collegiate churches and monastery buildings, but most of them were destroyed in the war in 1761.
